Centerpiece clam. Which one?

Gigas would be my choice, a nice 5 to 7" would be a real center piece. If you want a real colorful clam, go with one of the electric blue Maximas. Although smaller than the Gias, they really stand out with actinic lights over them.

It's Crocea for me! My largest tank is a 75 gal and I don't want a 16in or larger clam in there! Especially in a small sps tank- leave plenty of room for your sps to grow large. Croceas are the best of both worlds- beautiful bright blues and greens and stay a manageable size.
I would stay away from Gigas, they get way too big!

The most prized ones appear to be Colored Teardrop maximas. Seems to be the hardest to find. Some might say a Blue Squamosa, too, but most of those go overseas. So, we don't see them a whole lot here.

A super-sized gigas brings a definite wow-factor to large tanks.

For a small SPS tank in your case, a lime green crocea would be the ultimate find. Unfortunately, those usually go overseas, too.

here is a gigas and others

Thanks for the input. I've got a gold teardrop in my 75 but he's firmly attached and happy. Eventual size doesn't matter to me. The way this tank is designed, I'll be able to remove anything easily if it gets too big. If I could figure out how to post pics on here, I'd show you!

Black and white would be cool. I've seen them online and they're pretty spendy.

Corn...You are a clam-a-holic.

I'm with unarce & corn...You can't miss a Gigas!:eek1:
