Centropyge debaroae - blue midnight angel

This is my new fish, Centropyge deborae. It's a fairly newly recognized species, having been named just last year.

I know I'm not the first to post pics/vids here, and mine certainly don't compare to Todd's, but what the heck!

I've had it for 6 days now, and it's so far, so good. It doesn't eat pellets yet, but does eat a little bit of frozen brine and picks at algae and grazes on the live rock all day and night.

The only tankmates are a mated pair of Molly Miller blennies. I hope to soon add a golden angel, Centropyge aurantius.

I'm using a 10-year-old point-and-shoot digicam, so cut me some slack!

Admittedly, it's not as blue as in the flash photos, but not as non-blue as in the video. Under my T5s, it really is a very pretty fish.

Early on it would pick on my leather coral, and that was about it. I saw it bite an anemone tentacle, and after a bit of coughing and shaking and spitting, I think it learned its lesson. Ever since it hasn't really bothered anything. I saw it take one nibble at the palm tree coral, but that was it. I think it may turn out to be a model citizen, though maybe not for another angel. It's gotten quite brave, and will charge the glass when I get up close for a look.

Btw, this is what I have in the tank: anthelia, palm tree, devil's hand leather, hammer, frogspawn, brown palys, zoas, pink birdsnest, mushrooms, Kenya tree, green LTA, green BTA, Sherman rose BTA, and I think that's it.
