I'm really a SPS guy but I have a few chalice corals so now I'm wondering, is placing them on the sand bed OK? They have maintained color so lighting is not an issue but I'm not sure if the sand will irritate them.
It may if it is constantly on them but overall they should be fine. If they are still small you can glue them to a small flat rock sitting on or buried in the sand a little.
