I am going to be setting up a 12" cube (7.5 gallon) with a 150 watt metal halide 4" from the water. The tank is going to have 750 gph (100x turnover). The tank will be BB. I was hoping to grow some kind of encrusting hard coral such as chalice or monitipora on the bottom glass. Now that you know about the tank I have a few questions:
1. Will the lighting or the flow be to much for chalice coral?
2. What happens when 2 different chalice corals grow together? Will they sting each other?
3. I know a lot of corals are grouped under the common name of chalice. Is any particular species more suited to a high flow high light environment?
Thank you for you help.
