Challice feeding question

Hi all;
It's been a long time since I've been on.
I just got my first Challice. It's about a 2" frag. Question is, do I need to feed it and if so how do I do it ?
Thanks
Dave

If you let some food fall on the chalice around the mouths they will open and ingest the food. Mine actually suck in whole mysis shrimp but it takes a while. Smaller food bits go in quicker. I also occasionally get them some food in the wee morning hours when there tenticles are out. They grow even when I don't directly feed, I think they grow quicker though with some purposeful feedings a few times per week. I don't have any shrimpies either, they can be known to go around ripping into various lps to get the food out. Nasty little suckers when it comes to food. Others will probably chime in there own methods and whether they consciously feed or not.

Thanks for the reply. I put some food on top of the challice, (with the pumps off) but the fish got to it first. I'll have to try again.

i grind alot of my foods together witha coral food mix.. diffrent meats and protien addatives then with a baster spot feed them.

I spot feed mine at night. That seems to be the only time the tentacles are out. I usually feed it mysis or formula 1.

I bought some reef chili and the optional feeding bottle. I use either reef chili with mysis shrimp or cyclop-eeze with mysis shrimp. Feed them twice a week after the lights go out. Oh, and I feed my shrimp some shrimp pellets right before the lights go out. That way they are busy with the pellets while I'm feeding the chalice. I don't think this is a must by all means but It seems to keep mine very happy.

I put a little cyclop-eeze in the tank after I get home when the lights are still on. About 10 min after doing this the tentacles are out on everything and then I proceed to feed everything with my homemade food.

My chalices love mysis.
