Change of plans...make that a 100 gallon build!

Got a great deal from a local reefer on a drilled 100gal and stand he wasn't using anymore so I'll be using that instead of the 90 gal I was getting originally. Gonna be doing a 100 gallon display with a 40 breeder DIY sump. For some reason I can't edit or delete my previous build thread, so I'll just start another. He said the tank is drilled with two 1.5" holes, one in each upper corner. From the pictures it looks like he was running a continuous siphon in one corner and a surface skimmer in the other corner. I want to run either a Herbie or Bean Animal overflow, so what would be the best way to drill/plumb this? I will be ordering from Glass Holes, I'm just not quite sure what to get as I've never drilled/plumbed a tank before. Please advise, wise ones. :bounce3:

Here's my equipment list so far:

Flow: 2x Jebao PP-8's on a wavemaker controller (combined 360-4200 gph), plus the return (Jebao 9000).
Lighting: probably gonna go LED, I've heard good things about Evergrow.

I'm gonna keep the sump pretty basic, definitely want a good sized fuge chamber and a skimmer in there, not sure how I want to set up my mechanical filtration. Probably filter sock or floss. Going to do an ATO as well, just don't have much experience with them -- recommendations?

I'll be doing an aragonite sand bed and probably about 75lbs of rock. Depending on what I can find at LFS I may use live rock, or I'll use dry and seed it.

Very very early stocking ideas (tank will have screen top):
- Definitely a pair of clowns, I'm torn on what I want. I used to have two maroons and loved those hellish gluttons, but I love the look of the skunks, too. Still plenty of time to decide!
- Kole yellow eye tang
- gobies; clown, citron, maybe a sand sifter later on
- trio of pajama cardinals
- trio of dispar anthias
- leopard wrasse, fairy wrasse
- probably a blenny of some sort, midas and/or lawnmower
- mandarin way down the road

Coral wise it will probably be softy/LPS dominated since that is my personal taste, but I do love a good monti cap so we'll see.

I'll also be getting a battery backup power supply for this tank (because I'm paranoid) that at least the pump and probably the powerheads
will be plugged into in the event of a power outage.

Anyways I have the 40 breeder and hopefully picking up the 100 today. Any and all input is appreciated!

Slightly unrelated but, anyone know why I'm unable to edit/delete posts? I remembering being able to back when I made this account. Was this a forum-wide change?

About to leave to pick up the 100 and stand! I'll post some pics when we get her in her new home. :D

FTS, side view, and the current plumbing situation. She definitely needs a good scrub, that's happening this weekend. 1.5" bulkheads on the back, not sure what's going on with the left corner, and the right corner is what looks to be a DIY overflow? I will probably take all that off and install Glass-Holes overflows on each side and run dual return pipes up from the sump. Any advice? Input? Thoughts?

From the looks of it, I would drill the center of the tank for the herbie or bean animal and use the 2 holes in the corners for returns.

Do something like a ghost overflow

That's a good idea! I'll probably end up doing that.

Overflow box and drill bit will be in on Tuesday, taking a scraper to it today and taking off the box on the right corner, as well as excess piping I won't need for the returns.

Drilling day! Took off the excess piping, got her all cleaned up. Drilling the overflow today as well as painting the back panel of the tank and the stand black.

Updated equipment list:
50gal custom sump (will prob be filling it up to 45gal or so)
300W Eheim Jager Heater
Inkbird Thermostat
2x Evergrow 165watt LED fixtures
Jebao DCT-8000
2x Jebao PP8 with wavemaker controllers
Aquatic Life 100GPD RODI system

Forgot the 300watt red/purple LED fuge light (not sure the brand, got it from a local reefer).
