changing substrate???

I'm going to switch substrate from crushed coral to sand. I was told that I could use white play sand from homedepot 80lbs and 50lbs of live sand from another tank to get a nice deep sand bed in my 55gl. Has anyone done this?

I used kolorscape from HD, no problems.

a lot of their sands have silica in it which can throw off levels in your tank.

Are you sure you have crushed coral?
