Hey everyone. I was wondering who has the best price on fish. I haven't decided what I want yet so I was hoping that some awesome prices would help me decide. anyone have some good sites/stores? Thanks!

well, yeah but I had assummed that no one would have wasted their money on unhealthy fish. But I agree only post good experiences with cheap stores. Thanks!

Another vote for SITC.

1. You cant shop for you fish and see what you are getting. Even healthy fish will vary in looks, personality and color.

2. Chances of getting a very stressed out unhealthy fish are higher with online stores.

3. Marcye has a great system of QT and feeding to insure a very healthy fish that is ready for your tank (or your QT).

4. Her prices are not much more than online. In some cases she has had items that were much more in her store, but if you talk to her and let her know she will work with you most times.

5. Unbeatable return policy and rock solid advice.

"Whats it going to cost me today" is the most expensive route I know of.

Only down side is I always seem to walk out with much more than intended.

Actually go to fishy business come to think of it. He has the best fish in town by far, and the best selection at the best prices anywhere in or around orlando.

U cant stress these facts anymore... all the fish I bought from Marcye acclimated perfectly and ate like pigs the first day in my system. Her prices are also great...

I really hate to name drop, but Fishy Business does have a lot of fish available, usually some less common fish too. Or SITC can always fill your order. ;) Either way you look at it, ordering online for one or two fish really doesn't save much, if anything over a bit higher price locally. I ordered from saltwaterfish and had to add a couple things just for the minimum $79 order.

I would recommend buying locally. Either Sea in the City or Reef Works.
These are by far the best two places in the Orlando area, hands down.

Don't forget that if you do buy online you will need to get overnight shipping to get a fish that a)is still breathing b) not turned to soup in this heat. You can tack on at least $30 for that, unless you plan to buy a lot of things and get the free shipping option.

i was talking to a UPS guy the other day who brought an amazon package to my house and he said his truck had a thermometer in it and it got to 117 degrees because his truck didn't have a cooler thingy, zoinks!

Wow, that would not be a fun job! I know our UPS guy looked really weathered when he was in last week. I'd hate to have to drive in Florida with no AC.

Live Aquaria has a great reputation from what I've heard.

They have very healthy products, and great customer service. Their prices are just a bit high, IMO.

I have also heard good things about LiveAquaria's customer service and selection. You do pay for it, but you get a 14 day guarantee, and supposedly they give you little grief when it comes to honoring it.

I've always shopped for fish locally for many of the reasons here. Good luck in whatever you decide to order from, and let us know the results!
