cheato & green hair algae

It appears my cheato has hair algae mixed in with it from the lfs. should i ditch it and get more cheato. the hair algae isn't in my tank YET. i hate to ditch it because it's been growing well.

Yes. You do not want GHA growing in the sump. If you leave it there you are going to have to buy a bunch of critters to clean it up next week.

What kind of critters do I need if I have gha and the red kind?

i have tons of hermit crabs and a lawnmower blenny

I have never had a lawnmower blenny or any kind of blenny. But when it comes to those hermit crabs, yuck. All they seem to do is eat my snails, so I put them down in my sump. Can I use any thing else?

I am sure there are alternatives, I am not sure of what they are as I am a newbie at all of this
