Cheato?

what other filtration methods are u using?
are u running a phos reactor?
what are your nitrate levels at?
other than having low nutrients in your tank i cant think of any other reason why your macros arent surviving
the pics evidently show that it grows macro well so im assuming its not a gimmick and the problem is within your tank params

if the chaeto is new, it needs a good few weeks for the eco system to balance out and the chaeto to start out competing other unwanted algae... before then, all you can do is to give the chaeto some help so it can start competing for nutrients... i gave mine 24/7 lighting and some iron dosing...
