When I use fishing line, I leave less than 1/8 inch poking through when feeding live/frozen ghost shrimp. If I'm feeding chunks of frozen food, I don't poke the line all the way through. I think it was my fault because I may have had to much of the string hanging through the krill, but when he latched he freaked out and swam like a caught him on a hook. All I could think was that the fishing line may have gagged him or something, but still a good accomplishment.
