Check this loser out!!!!

what a jerk!!(have to use pg-13 words) so i don't get kicked by the mods. but why would steal corals like that unless its for your own tank. nobody is going to buy those on a street corner or at a pawn shop. he prob killed them in the process. you can see his face so hopefully they will find him soon.

Could be an insurance scam too though. A local pet store back in Arizona got busted after the third time high dollar birds were stolen from him for insurance fraud. He'd have someone "steal" the birds and sell them to a pre-arranged buyer and then report them "stolen" and collect insurance money.

$4k in coral? That amount makes me suspicious of the same thing possibly be done. Saying the dude only took a few corals, what would fit in one 5 gallon bucket and it was worth $4,000? I may be 100% wrong, but I smell something.

I thought $4k was a little high, too, Fidel. I just passed it off as sensationalism, though.

now hat I think aobut it. I saw him grab what looked like a Monti Cap. the one I sold for $150 would not fit in a 5 gal bucket. then again, It may be hard for an insurance company to put a price tag on a living item like a coral. he bought it small for $100. it grew alot.. now its worth $1500?

I hear references to addiction in this hobby all the time, but this is equal to a heroin junkie on the streets. Unbelievable what some/most people are capable of...

Maybe he's claiming damages for the coral, the lighting bills, and all the necessary supplies to grow it......maybe it was some wwc crazy priced chalice.......wouldn't be a large piece to get up to 4000 quick at 999.00/eye.

People like this guy is why critter has a camera on there coral tanks.

From what I can tell In the video. It could be a chalice. Not to may insurance comp will insure aquatic life. I know this of growing up in my uncle's fish store. He trying to insure his sharks and big cats. I remember one comp would have but cost was more then his 500sl mercedes.

Even staff at the critter says looks sometimes in frustration at the lower end powerheads that fall off his tanks and substandard equipment he has to manage with cause even with cameras he is cautious that if he had valuables people would steal them........he said its almost weekly somebody gets off or at least tries to lift snakes.......supplies....livestock....we were talking about putting mp's in your hometank....wishes he could at the store, but he knows they'd get stolen.

Yeap there's a camera right above the live rock tank and he also tried putting glass on top of the tanks. to keep those people sticky finger out of the tank. I guess people will steal anything. I just wonder how they do it without killing the coral. What they just stick the coral in there pocket and walkout. And put it in a bucket with saltwater. Which may kill it to. Selfish act on there part. Bc when I'm in there during store hours there always an employee walking around or helping someone back by the coral tanks.
