Checked out Finz today.

Just thought i'd drop an FYI on my experience int he store. But anyways, I stopped by finz today, it's on Dale Mabry where Creative Oceans used to be. And i thought it was pretty nice. I think they just recently opened and their selection was pretty good. The only thing was that it was kinda pricy, but i talked to an employee there and they said that they get their stuff from other places other then the Phillipines. Regardless some pretty nice, well kept and healthy fish were there. Their coral selection was very nice as well. The thing i liked alot is that they had nice show piece corals which were for sale. and not just for "Display only". But i did talk to the owner and tomrrow they are going to have a huge shippment of SPS corals and some really really large (18" or so) pieces of all types of SPS's coming in. He told me to come in tomorrow to check it out, but ill see if i have the time, i just figured i let everyone on the forum know about it, just so we can go "ooooooo, aaahhhhh" but he said to check in tomorrow evening or wednesday morning. And to call before coming.

But basically i thought they did a pretty job with the store. just the prices are a little pricy, but you know what they say, you pay for what you get.

yeah I just talked to them over there and they said they are getting someones tank that is jam packed with huge pieces. they are supposed to be very nice sps. they said huge caps and acro's. mentioned that some frags would also be for sale since moving that many big pieces some are bound to get broken. he also said he knows most people can't take that big of pieces so some things may just have to be fragged anyway. I think he said $10-30 for nice size frags. I didn't ask how big that was so I can't give a size. they are supposed to pick it up tomorrow and bring it back to the store so wed. would be the best time to come in. don't know if I can wait that long.
glad to have another store this is definately in my top 2 stores.

Good stuff. Do you know if they will have any LPS Corals or soft corals? I miht have to check it out if they will be selling frags for that cheap.

well, i dont remember looking at the floor, but basically everything was about set up except a small system int he back corner of the store... as well as whatever is going in that area where the old display tank was at.

hot I have not seen the tank so I do not know everything that is in it. most people have a few lps or softies at least but who knows. they know I like sps so that is what they told me about. I think they said there are some fish in there as well and of course the rock. no better fish than out of someones tank. I will have to check those out also.
gimp from what they say the store should turn out pretty nice. I think they are putting a couch or 2 in there with a tv. that will be cool so my girl has something to do when I stand there talking for 3 hours.
