Chemicals in substrate

A while back I used some ich meds containing Fomalin and malechite Green in a QT.The QT had substrate in it.My question is:Can I still use the substrate for a regular mini reef set up?I wanted to make sure before I did it.Thanks Steven

I would advise against it. Buy some new substrate rather than risk the lives of numerous corals and inverts. Not to mention the money you could lose. To me, new substrate would be the only choice here.

A better choice, imo, would be to forget the substrate entirely in a QT.
