Chiller control

I have a RKE and there is a chiller control With Hysterisis set on .2. I have it set
at 78.7,it holds within .5 of a degree. My question is the chiller is turning off
and on back just like it is being plugged in and out at the outlet. Is that any good for it? Should I set the chiller and use that thermostat And set the RKE
temp a little higher just for a back up. I wouldn't think plugging it in and out is any good fir it.

I have controlled my 1/3hp chiller via the RKE turning the power on and off for two years. No problems. That being said, it would probably depend on the chiller design. There is certainly nothing wrong with using the RKE as a failsafe to your chiller's internal control, just make sure it is working in harmony with your heater. You don't want them both on at the same time.

Dave. Hows that 1/3HP working for you with the ~400G H2O volume in your signature ?

Which brand chiller as well, JBJ Arctica ?
