Chiller for 24 gallon nano

I have the ICA on my 24G Aquapod HQI 150W. On a hot day it cannot keep up. Temprorarily am resorting to a fan blowing across the water, untill our new chiller arrives hopefully this week.

I installed the old style in my 24 and let me say, to call it junk is an insult to junk everywhere. It is so poorly designed that you cannot get the tubing connected and close the lid without the tubing getting kinked and causing the water to stop flowing.
They did redesign it (Of course just after I got mine) and the redesigned one looks better but I have not heard how it works.

I see that you are in Chicago, I feel your pain with this heat.

What was your temp holding at before the heatwave?
Mine never gets above 82 during the day with an ambient temp in the high 70's - low 80's and lights & powerhead running.

I'd go with RO/DI ice cubes until the heatwave stops, just drop them in a back chamber. Winter will be here before you know it.

Thanks for the comments. My temp is usually around 85. Before the heatwave it was steady at just about 79-80. My problem is also that I have the tank in an upstairs bedroom. I never thought of Ro/di ice cubes. I think I'll give that a try first.

I have this chiller and it was installed by nano customs. Seems to be keeping temps 78-79 so i would say it is working but next tank I will go with the larger, separate chillers like artica.

i would just get fans from drfostersmith.com for half the price. they work great for me

I believe he was asking for input from people that actually have this chiller running on their systems!
