Chiller keeps coming on, then off.

I recently purchased a 1/2HP C-050 Pacific Coast Chiller. Today I have noticed that it comes on every 5 minutes, then shuts back off. It comes on at 78, then when it hits 77, it shuts back off. It cycles this every 5-10 minutes. I have it plumbed into a closed loop with a Reeflo Dart. I have turned off all other output CL lines and left the one with the chiller on and it still acts this way.

Im worried about my compressor if this happens too often or any other part in the chiller. Zoos recommended i calibrate the unit a couple degrees off.

Does anyone else have any tips or ideas? Should I separate out this CL line with its own dedicated 1000gph pump? I also have a couple elbows to the chiller which may restrict flow and am thinking about switching out the sched 80 to flex. Thanks!

I have the heater chiller 1/2 combo and mine is teed of from my hammerhead so its close to what the dart is . mine runs for a 2min to 5min then it stopes but dont come back on for at least 10 min its on my 500 gal tank with 4 400 watt mh so there heat there ! Are your heaters turning on in the tank ?
What size tank is this on also ? mine does a 2 deg change before off and on !

Sounds like you might be battling the heaters. Chances are you do not even need your heater. Check the actual tank temp versus the chiller's starting temp.

That's an idea about the heaters. I will take it out and see if this helps. My temp sensor is in the chiller. Its built in. It would make sense to use an external sensor.. but what if the chiller is not setup correctly and it freezes the exchanger?
