Chiller Recommendation for ELOS Mini System...

Hey all,

I'm new to the world of nano-reefing (been a large tank guy), I've had a couple through the years that I bought used and utilized as QT/acclimation tanks, but never set one up as my display. Well after selling my larger aquarium, and purchasing an ELOS Mini system I'm at a loss as to what brand/make chiller I should opt for. I'm looking for a reliable, silent (or quiet), high-quality chiller to hold my tank temps. I do not mind paying more for higher quality, so LMK what you guys think! My actual system volume is somewhere between 18-20 gallons.

I'm a big fan of Premium Aquatics for hardgoods, and the three I've been looking at are the:

- Pacific Coast 1/13 HP Mini Chiller
- CurrentUSA 1/15 HP Prime Chiller with Dual Stage Thermostat
- JBJ Nano Arctica - Up to 25g

LMK your thoughts, opinions and any other recommendations!

Thanks!

I don't think you'll need a chiller. if it came with the LED light you'd think it wouldn't put out hardly any heat. I have a ADA 18g with 4 t-5's on it and I have to use a heater.

Try fans before plumbing a chiller. If you live in a warm climate and definitely need or want a chiller go for the Pacific Coast.

I run a deepwater non-photosynthetic tank so a chiller is a must. Not only to hold temps down, but keep them stable.

Thanks for the replies

I'll look further into the Pacific Coast model.
