chillers and heaters

i only have a heater and my tank fluctuates between 76 and 79.i was considering getting a chiller.is it better to keep a constant temp or just leave it as is.i keep the house about the same so other than a power outage i dont think the tank would go over 81-2 in the summer

i would set the heater to 78 or 79 and basically use it as a bottom stop.

what is your heater set to?

Before getting a chiller; see if adding a fan will provide sufficient cooling. Only downside to using a fan is your evaporation rate will increase.
