Chinese LED group buy

Is there any interest in a group buy here locally to order some Evergrow LEDS? ie D120 or Nova A6? Minimum order is a total of 12 shipped to one location. The Tampa club just did an order. I would imagine we would get the same pricing, however it may change a little. If folk are interested I would have to contact the vendor directly. But here is what they paid.

D120 $135.45
Nova A6 $247.80

Im looking at two d120. Any others interested? Again we need a total of 12, so just 10 more. I would take all the paypal payment and submit the total amount over to the vendor. It takes around 10 days to receive the lights.

There is a huge thread under the lighting section on these LEDs. Here is the tampa group by thread.

If this goes through, I would like to order next Sunday.

Im suprised no one is interested.

Really? Not me. imho, the units you listed are over-priced. We're lucky in Orlando that several local stores carry a variety of LED panels. For comparison sake, I'll only talk about the Nova A6. It's got 72 3W LEDs (Blue, White, and UV) being driven at 2.5W and costs ~$250. Last time I checked (last month) I can walk into a LFS today and buy a traditional black box panel with more colors (blue, white, uv, green, red) and otherwise similar specs (dimmable, under driven 3W LEDs, etc.) for <$200. I can decide if I like the color, make sure the panel works before I walk out of the store, and if something goes wrong I'm not out $50 to ship the thing back to China and _hope_ the warranty is honored... maybe you should check out a couple of stores to see if they have something that works for you.

I would be curious too Iggie, lowest I have seen them in any local store was $279 for dim able 200w panels?

I'm for the group buy depending on timing. I would be instrested in two of the cheaper panels. Anything has to be more energy efficient than my metal halides and pc combo...

200 watts?, would love to see that, not even on a radion, Just go to serenity salt water Live stock, dimable every Color mention above, and wareanty, you Can Also see how they pool riffy SMS there

The traditional black box panel your talking about is the same chinese led's that are in this group buy. Ive seen them all at my LFS and they cost up around $260 for individual units. Even if you get yours for around $200 your saving $140 on both units. A considerable savings. Also you can spec out the LED's and order them with any combination of color bulbs you choose.

why not support your LFS, and take advantage of the ones they already have available, if it does not work you just drive there.
just a thoug

I'm all about supporting a LFS, and I do weekly. But they also have to be competitive and needing my exact needs. The LFS in questions has the leds that are similar to d120's at with 60 degrees lenses for 199.00. Unfortunately I need 90 or even 120 degree lenses since I have a canopy.

And as mentioned when needing multiple fixtures the cost savings is huge when doing a group buy.
