Chocolate chip starfish

I am new to the saltwater world. I've had many freshwater setups but no saltwater. I recently bought a tank that has been running for just over a year. I have two small perc clowns and a choclate chip star fish and wondering if any one has had a choc. star. for a while and could help. Lots of place tell you lots of thing. Like to feed them meaty flesh once or twice a week. Igave it some catfish yesterday. He sits at the top so I handed it to his arm and he pulled it toward his mouth. Then it sat under him till I left for work this morning. It was pretty small peice does it take 24 hours before it will consume it. Any tips on feeding and care would be great. I have nothing but my two fish some live rock and my star no corals or inverts for him to destroy.

I've never kept them, but I don't think they're particularly difficult. From what I understand, however, they are not reef safe (eat corals) and may even pose a threat to your clowns.

Sea Stars are echinoderms, in the same group as cukes and urchins, when a sea star eats something he actually ejects one of its two stomachs which intern absorbs the food whole and brings it back in the body for digestion.

So give it a while to eat something, I would try feeding cut up shrimp from the store. Thats probably cheapest, and easiest.

He isn't a threat to your pair of clowns, I don't think he would hurt the nem. but I wouldn't count on that. They just aren't cool enough to go through the trouble.
