Hey guys, recently just set up the protein skimmer in the tank unfortunately do not have a sump so it is attached to the side. Is the bubble box suppose to be producing this many bubbles? Looking to do more of a dry skim. Still new to the hobby so any suggestions are great!

Thanks!

skimmers take time to break in.. as little as a day to as much as 2 weeks before they really start working properly.

wet skim = raise foam head higher
dry skim = lower foam head

and yes with a hang on style expect more micro bubbles in the tank. thats one of the benefits of a sump/bubble traps.
