Christmas wrasse...

Well, it is a shrimp eater. I sacrificed two peppermint shrimp tonight to the Christmas wrasse. It attacked until they were in pieces (and ultimately disappeared;)). I need to watch my crabs now. I can see snails all over the glass, but haven't noticed the new crabs... Everyone else I have heard from who had a Christmas wrasse said they didn't have problems with the fish and crustaceans... Same with the Scribbled Rabbitfish. I'm fish-hexxed, I think. Oh well, I just won't put any shrimp in there. I love the fish;).

OOOh sorry to hear that Gary! He would have had a feast with my 3 big boys and the 12 baby shrimp I just got yesterday :eek2: FWIW All my fish are so stinking mean, even the ones suppose to be very nice. I have always had bad luck with mean fish. My kole tang hates my LMB and he jumped to the overflow and is hanging out in the sump waiting on me to rescue him right now.

Angela you need to talk nicer to your fish they may be getting an attitude from the way you talk to them. Also play way fm around them it is positive music and will help them with there anger issues and of course if that doesn't work try shock treatment.

or get a fish whisperer. they will show them whos boss.

i thought of it because i watch that dog whisperer show sometimes with Cesar Millan. its amazing what he can do to a mean dog in such little time. I think fish are a little more hard headed though and they got more places to hide from you then a dog does lol.

I little filet to welcome the wrasse home. That is so kind and thoughtful of you Gary. Good way to get him eating I guess.

I didn't know the wife did this nor would have approved... She got so mad at of all things a kissing gourami (I know freshwater yuck..). She took the poor guy out of the tank one night and made it sit in a gallon pitcher of water overnight to punish it for chasing around her blood parrots. In the morning she re-added it. Still the same issue. Last I seen of the gourami it was being cursed in a plastic bag, going out the door on its way back to Fins.

Yeah, I figured I'd test the waters first and dropped on in. The molting from another fell in with it, diverting the wrasses attention. The wrasse watched intently, but didn't strike the molting. I dropped the second one in and the wrasse couldn't miss it. Ripped it to shreds in seconds...

My fish whisperer method with Shakes (the clown) involves flicking of fingers at in rushing maroons. I don't think I get quite the response as the horse whisperer...
