Chromis question

36 gallon tank, running for a year. stock: green chromis, firefish, randalls goby, clownfish in QT.

my chromis is SUPER aggressive at feeding time, and will take almost all the food. i am going to move him to my QT tank (standard 10 gallon). i know the recommended minimum size is 30 gallons, but he is small. him taking the food is getting to the point where my firefish is starving. real PITA. i am looking for more of a passive and slow stock, so i want to move him to my QT. do you think this is fine? i can always find another home for him later. but he is my oldest fish and i love him and i would really love to keep him

no one? i guess there is always room in the LFS display tank.

i will probably keep him in the 10g for a few months then when he outgrows it, i will give him to the LFS. anyone else have input on this?

Feed more food, greater quantity, greater frequency. If all the food is being eaten but the firefish is starving, feed more.

Chromis should ultimately be fed as often as anthias, as in 2-3× a day 5hey also fare best in larger systems, as controlling the nutrients in a small system as yours would prove to be a challenge.

Agree with snorvich, find it a new home.

the chromis is out of the tank now. i got him when i really didnt know much about reefkeeping. thank you for the replies. my firefish seems to be doing better now
