Chromis with Uronema Marinum

So unfortunately my blue green chromis in QT is showing signs of uronema marinum.

He is in QT with a LMB that is healthy and not showing signs of the disease. Both are eating and behaving well also.

I was thinking about returning the chromis to the LFS. How likely would it be that he could recover? His color has slowly been coming back over the past three weeks. Every day he does appear to have gained some of that unique blue hue back but at the same time developing those brown spots that appears to be missing scales as well. Is the color coming back a sign of recovery or is this the normal routine for this disease?

I want to remove the chromis ASAP but to keep him I would need to purchase and start another QT so roughly another $100 for another tank, heater and power head for a $7 fish that from my reading is almost certain to die probably sooner than later. I'd have to wait on the power head and heater in the mail so it would be a few days which he could very well die on that time. Plus I would be dealing with an uncycled QT...to add to my other two QT I already have running with occupants.

What should I do??

IME; Uronema is almost impossible to treat. I've been unsuccessful treating with copper every single time; the fish always dies. Supposedly chloroquine phosphate treats Uronema, but I haven't had the opportunity to test it out on an infected chromis.

So I do not believe the Chromis has uronema marinum.

To recap, I bought a blue/gren Chromis and LMB about two months ago. About a week or so into QT, I noticed the chromis was not the predominantly blue/green he was when I bought him but almost entirely light green. I figured it may have been stress from moving him from the LFS, home. He did hide behind the heater and filter intake most of the time.

About two weeks later I noticed the brown markings on both sides with one in particular at least half a centimeter long. These symptoms lead me to believe the chromis had uronema. However, for various reasons since deciding that, I have done nothing actively to treat it outside of basic QT and observation.

I have since received in the mail PraziPro and Formalin MS (37% Formaldehyde) but now I no longer believe the Chromis has uronema.

Since my original post, the chromis has:
- Gained about 30% - 40% of its blue color back
- Has continued to eat very well since he first accepted food in QT
- Has become less shy and more active
- Lastly, I feel like the markings have become little by little less apparent each day...one reason for never starting a treatment.

As of now, the markings are still visible but I struggle to see them all sometimes, partly because the fish doesn't sit still. At first they were all clearly visible. I tried to take pictures but the fish is too active to take a picture in focus enough to make out the light brownish markings.

Given the way in which the symptoms have slow faded over time and that it has not brought this fish to its demise, especially after the given time frame, what could this Chromis have or possibly had??

Water parameters are:

78 degrees F
1.023 SG
pH 8.0
0ppm ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

I now have another 10 gallon QT running with nothing in it. I also have about 10 gallons of SW currently mixing. I was planning on starting the formalin treatment tonight and then separate the LMB since he is and has not shown any symptoms, then continue their treatment separately following snorvich's guide but now I am rethinking my strategy before wasting time doing wrong or unnecessary treatment.

What could this be??
