Cirrhipathes spiralis (Spiral coral / spiral gongonian)- Non Photosynethic?

I was kind of waiting for someone to say that. Kind of suspected it may be the case. Perhaps someone else will chime in and say differently.

Are the specimens that people are having success with the maricultured ones or the wild ones? I ask because I read an article that said these corals can not reproduce by fragging, so I was wondering how the maricultured ones are doing then?

slapshot MORE DETAILS! Fragging is easy. Get a sharp enough tool or drop a coral off a 20 foot building it is fragged. How much have they grown since fragging and how long ago did you frag?

Fragged mine months ago. Just took some wire cutters and cut it in half. Epoxied it right to a rock. It has tripled in size since then. That was a yellow one, I have a blue one that grows ever so slowly so there must be some difference. Just feed them a lot.

Good to hear, thanks for all the responses. In one of the articles linked above it mentioned that, but I guess its not true. Thanks!
