clam bio load

Do clams cause a tank to have a high bio load? I have a 24 AP with no fish in it, a few zoas/shrooms, anemone, and a crocea and derasa clam. I had a big amonia problem recently, and people are telling me that my bio load is too high. There are no fish in the tank so could it be the clams causing this high bio load?

If anything clams help with bioload. They filter ammonia and nitrates to a very small extent.
