For any clam keepers out there, some advice would be appreciated.
I have a 2 year old reef, pretty densely populated with SPS, LPS, mucho fish, and so on.
I had 3 small clams, (gigas, derasa, maxima), and 1 large maxima.
Slowly over a 2 month period, each of the little clams perished, I tryed fresh water dips, and little critters seemed to be flushed from them. Then my long time lg. maxima died, and I haven't got a clue what has happened?
I'd like to get some more clams, but not until I can determine what the problem was.
The only other additions to the reef were a Bannerfish, and a CCB, and I suspected them to be the evil doers, but I never see them messing with the clams?
I couldn't see any kind of boring snails under neath them either, or I probably overlooked something obvious?
Can anybody give some insight as to why all these clams would die one after another, in just a 2 month period?
Thanks in advance.
KAJeff
