I came REAL close to buy a 6" clam today but I wanted to find out if its even possible to have one on a bare bottom tank.

Anyone ever seen a clam on BB?

May be you want to read more about clams before getting any. Some clams are sand dweller while others are rock dweller.

Interesting.

Your definately correct. That's why I held back on buying one.

It's reading time :)

T. squamosa and T. derasa are sand dwellers. T. maxima and T. crocea will attach itself to rock, or even your tank bottom, so you'll probably want to look at them. They also tend to be more colourful, but they also need stronger lightings. You can also hang around at the clam forum here in RC and I'm sure people there can help you better.

Good luck. :)
