I have a clam that I have had for several years now. I bumped into it the other day while working in the tank. I didnt think the bump was bad at all. It hasnt expanded out good for several days now and today I noticed a very fine black thread coming out of what I would call it's outlet pipe. Any opinions out there as to what might be going on?
Thanks
Jeff

It's releasing some zoox, they do this when they have too much. It should be fine, can you post a pic of it?

Here is your pic's from your photobucket acct. I just clicked the direct link address and it automatically copy's it. Then insert it in the IMG box on here. That should work for posting pic's.

The clam looks like something is picking on it to me, what fish and inverts do you have? Have you changed your lighting recently? What do you dose and how do you add it?

I havent seen anything fish or critter picking on it. I have some different snail, and hermits. The thing that has got me stumped is I havent changed anything. All of my corals are doing well with the only other change I have seen is my sebea amononie has been retracted lately also. I raised the clam up 3 or 4 inches in the tank from the sand bed with no improvement. I did have to remove a hard tube worm that was growing on the shell mantel. But that didnt help any yet. So far it is holding its own but not expanding. I think that I will mix up some more water and do another change. I dont dose anything other then my ca reactor.
Thanks
Jeff

when fish are picking you probably won't see them doing it. They are like kids, they know when you are watching.

tonight I have noticed that my sebae anomonie has opened up quite a bit and my clam looks to have opened up a tiny bit more. I tested my ph last night and it was at 7.86, today it is at 8.15 Maybe that has made the difference.
Thanks
Jeff
