clam mouth opens wide what does that mean?

i have two crocea one is doing great it been in there 2 months. and the other i got 10 days ago the mouth is opened really wide

i have them under 250watt halide 15k. they are about 3 inches

its called gaping, and Croceas do it more then others. i wouldnt worry too much right now, just keep your water quality stable and give it some time

sometimes change the direction where the "mouth" or the intake syphon is facing will correct the problem. It can be that it doesn't like the amount of water flow at that particular angle.

yeah it been moving in circles maybe flow direction is the problem. imm leave him maybe he'll find a suitable position.

Crocea's tend to do that, with that lighting you are fine.
