clam moving on sand

my clam is spinning himself on the sand. does that mean hes not getting enough light. currently he is facing the edge of my tank and he is pretty close the the right side of my tank. he is clearly rotating to face the light more directly but does that mean hes not getin enough light

What is the flow like, and how big is the clam? I've found in my tank that they tend to move around if they don't like the flow. I had a small one that moved itself off the rock I placed it on 2 times to get to a more sheltered area.

it is in a pretty low flow area. if anything it may not be enough but i had a torch in the same place and it was fine until i moved it.

what did you move, the torch or the clam? Any chance the torch was stinging the clam? Or am I misinterpreting your reply? How big is the clam?
