Will corals harm them?

I am going to try some clams for the first time in my reef and dont know the answer to this question. I have a couple books ordered but have not received them yet.

Thanks

there are those that claim tridacna mantles are somewhat less susceptible to stings from certain polyps, but both my crocea and derasa need space; anenomes can especially hurt them.

One of my Maxima is immune to my carpet anemone's sting. The carpet decided to rest next to it...actually partially on it. I intitally tried to move the maxima but it was bored on the rock...so i let it go. Now they are both permanently resting on each other. I also have many acros growing among my clams without any detriment.

The carpet will eventually cause the clam to pinch-in his mantle. It will die in a short time after this begins,Bob

Guess how long it has been...

Id give them their space, the mantles are very sensitive. The worse things though other than corals are bristle worms so keep small and baby clams high up in the rock work away from the sand bed.

Also keeping them with or near sps as suggested wont sting them but in the long run they may suffer as sps need a very pure low nutrient water where as clams thrive best on a 15-25ppm Nitrate water level ( much too high for best results with sps) and loads of nutrients although both when growing healthily will draw out calcium quicker than you could believe!
