I have a squamosa clam that I have had for about 3 months and has been doing great in the tank. Has been opening up and fully extending the mantle every day.
Lately though I have noticed that during the night when the lights are out that the inlett siphon is wide open and really big. But then every day he comes around and closes up the siphon and fully extends the mantle. Also his outlett siphon is nice and inflated all the time.
Is the clam showing signs of stress or is there some other problem that I might be having. Or is this something I should monitor and not worry about right now, and if so what do I need to look for in order to identify a problem? I have some other clams that are doing fine. They are opening and closing up very good every night. No signs of stress. Thanks for any help.
