Clam questions

Hi!

I have a 20gallon tank running with a 10gallon fuge. Equipment include a prizm skimmer.

Tank has been running for 2-3 months and everything in the tank is doing excellent. That includes montipora digitata, zoos, brain, ricordea and hammer.

I'm using a 175W Ushio MH and 55W of PC. The only reason why I got MH is because I wanted to eventually get a clam.

How mature does my tank need to be before I can get a clam? I plan on getting a super grade maxima and placing it on the sand bed.

My only worry is my pair of clowns hosting it. Currently, my clowns host the brain.

Being a little more mature would probably help, but sounds like you're about good to go. What's your current water chemistry (and brands used to test)?

you shouldn't add a clam to a system till it's had stable water for at least 6 months, thats not saying the tank was setup that long, just had stable water that long ;)

a clam needs NO3 in the system. 5ppm or so are more then enough tho. also salinity/temp are more important about stability then the others.
