Clam Reproduction

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I am wondering if anyone knows how clams reproduce?

You can look in your tank and find most corals reproducing at different times, and fish will do it from time to time. But, how do clams reproduce?

I didn't know if this was something that could be done in aquariums in the home.

Spawning in an aquarium is not a good thing. The gametes start to die in less than an hour and can KILL your water quality and everything else in the tank too (depending on clam size, tank size, etc.)

Other than that, when eggs are exposed to too many sperm (like what would happen in a tank), they die.

you really need a large water system for spawning clams, such as a large pool. They can be induced to spawn by being stress with temp changes, make them hot then drop the temp a good 10-15 degrees.
