Clam Shrinking

What would cause a clam to shrink it's mantle into it's shell?!

Not only does the clam not extend out anymore, but it looks smaller inside as well.

Anything I can do to bring it back?

doesnt sound good. stress and malaise will cause the clam to act as you said. Keep the water clean and the disturbances to a minimum. Have you checked it for parasites (pyr. snails)?

wow my hermits and shrimp are eating it.

so strange. my other 2 clams are doing fine. How long do I let the hermits dine on it? or should I just throw it out right now?

yes, its dead. get it out before it pollutes your tank.

yea its best to get rid of it now before it causes a spike.
