Clam spawned - skimmer not producing

My clam spawned last night. Early this morning the skimmer cup was full of mucous crap. I emptied it and now the skimmer is not skimming at all. I am not getting the usual fine stream of bubbles - just a bunch of turbulence. The skimmer is a BK mini 180 gen2. Is this normal?

I am traveling and my wife is trying to figure it out (she started a thread on the equipment forum under my username). If anyone has any ideas on what might be going on if it is not normal she would love to hear from you. She checked the air inlet and it is clear (I had the skimmer apart to clean it about a month ago).

Skimming is very particular on the oil and chemical levels in the water column. After an event like that I wod not touch the adjustment on the skimmer level or even turn it down a bit and let it do it's thing for a few days.

Maybe try running some carbon to get things back in line sooner but having your skimmer down for 2 or 3 days isn't going to hurt anything. Any change in water chemistry is going to affect water chemistry.

Lucky for me I swapped out the GAC yesterday. I don't get home until Thursday...
