clam ???

I have a blue crocea. My question is that I have a goby which moves a lot of sand/gravel. Some of which gets into the clam. Is this dangerous for the clam. I can see it just sitting on the mantel inside the clam.

I know its pita when that happens my maroons are constantly covering my clams in sand...I ocasionaly reach in and turn the clam over just enough to dump the sand off them....I dont know the long term effects of this but so far my clams that have sand on them still have good mantle extension....

My 2 engineer gobies are always loading my clam, they also tunnel under it. The clam always seems to get the debris removed on its own. When they tunneled under it though, I had to help out.

On the other hand I have seen the gills get clogged up and choke them out.

IME & IMO, I would move the clam to someother location.
