Clams Direct Group Buy

I am looking at getting a clam in the next two weeks. I want to cut down on shipping, so I am looking to see if anyone is interested in going in on a purchase? Here is the website:

The problem with ordering from a place like that is that they have a "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) sales plan. The one you pick must be paid for in order to keep it from being sold to the next guy. They wouldn't reserve clams and wait for the order to be placed. We tried it once with Tim (ChickenCannoneer) as the organizer but by the time we could put an order together the ones you wanted were already sold.
I hope it works for you but I thought you might like to know the setbacks that were faced already.

Good point. My thought was that once I knew who all wanted to go in on it, we would select our clams and buy them the same day. I agree it would be difficult to do it if we bought them over a two week time period. We would have to coordinate the purchase on the same day.
 
Trust me, I tried to place the order within a few hours and by then even the third choice that people had made was gone. I wish you the best of luck and I may end up getting in on this but if it falls through I will just order on my own.

No one ever mentions me. :( Chicken do you have any pics of your tank. 500 gal+ sounds impressive.
 
That is on my to-do list this weekend. I finally took that 5 minutes a day the get most of the crap off of my front pane. Cleaning a 36" deep tank is no small task :). I will try to post them here for other to see.

The way they do it is that you pay for what you want and then tell them that you are part of the group buy. This way you get what you want and there is no issue with waiting for others to order their clams. I have done it with them before and it works out well. Yes in a few weeks with clam direct. There is a thread on the Cleveland page for the order. I was in Israel for 2 weeks and didn't want ot order till I got back and make sure my tank is in good shape. I came back yesterday and have a little work to do before I can order them.

It is really neat to see... It is a 6 gallon Nano Cube with 494 gallon sump :lol:
