clams in a nano?

I was thinking of adding a clam to my nano cube 24 but not sure if that is a good idea since the cube has power compacts and the lighting is 50/50 72 watts of total lighting so what is your thoughts?

Good will be 150W 10,000K MH, with the clam close to the top.

I have tridacnas in 12" deep tank, at the top - right under 70W PC plus direct sunlight, southern window - they grow, but this is likely not optimal.

I wouldnt do it unless you really have either t5 or mh or a combo of the both maybe.

clams are very pretty but they are very high maintenance as far as lighting needs.

When I had my 24gl Nano, never had any luck with clams. Just waisted $.

Up the lighting. Also nano's do not really have a good skimmer unless you
buy a mod one. If I recall there was always a cloudy film at the top of the water.
I'm not sure if that would really harm the clam tho....

Best of luck!
;)

i have a squamosa that thrived in a 29 cube with pc,I upgraded the lighting to 5 watts a gallon but it was still pc lighting .he now lives in my 72 bow with halides but he wasnt fond of them in the beginning
