Clams

anyone have Clams in a bare bottom tank? or is that not a good idea

I never done that before, but I'm sure somebody else has. The byssal threads can't tell the difference between rocks or glass, so I don't think it matters. A hard surface is a hard surface.

I have 3 in my bare bottom tank, two I placed on a small flat rocks, and one I placed directly on the glass bottom. I think that I am going to place the third clam on a small piece of rock also, becasue the clam is moving around a lot on the glass, and won't stay in one place.

I have two in my BB but just like the above they are on flat piece of rock. You want to do it anyway, just in case you need to move them.

Thanks, I didn't really think about putting them on a rock. I was going to put one on the glass bottom inbetween two LR Islands I built, but that may work too
