it's going on 8 months with the TBS package for my 90G from 180 blue legged hermits I'm down to about 40 from 45 turbo snails I'm down to 20 from 2 mantis I got only one now got rid of the other otherwise I would probably have 0 snails 0 hermits I think that that is the reason for the snails and hermits disappearance my question is for all those who got the package around the time that I got mine, have you added more critters?
Thanks in advance.

Actually, I don't like TBS's invert mix (I think it's too high on hermits & too low on snails), so I bought a couple of extra turbo snails from the LFS for my tank. (We're talking mega-sized turbos, now).

The TBS snails are Astreas, I think, and smaller than the super-large turbos at the LFS. I've lost a few smaller snails to crabs or evolutionary stupidity.

I have lost all of my snails. Many to a Conch looking creature and a crab that is literally three inches across on his body (you could likely eat this thing). He lives below a 90 pound mountain of rock that I refuse to move. I am just going to add more. Hermits seem to be doing fine.

If anyone did add more, what kind did you add.

I have been slowly removing the larger hermit crabs as all I ever see them do is fight each other. I removed the serpent stars as they were much too aggressive feeders and stealing everyone elses lunch. I removed the cucumbers because they were creepy. And I gave away the urchins and condy's upon arrival.

I added Mexican Turbos for a red hair algae thing, and some more peppermints for their larvae production.

I started with a 40 gallon package in a 55 gallon tank.

The hermits seem to be doing fine.

I added 20 snails (5 bumble bee, 5 margarite, 5 cerith, and 5 something else) partly to keep up with the algae, partly because my lfs had a sale, and partly for a little diversity.

Lost one cuke - literally lost, don't know if it's dead or alive, but I haven't seen it in 6 months.

Lost my 2 peppermint shrimp to a suspected, but never seen, mantis. Bought two more. Lost them.

Bought and lost an emerald crab.
