Hello reefers. I was hoping to get a few suggestions for my clean up crew. My system consist of a 300 display, 90 fuge, 150 WC and 100 gallon sump. It is roughly 600g total. I have read the suggested amounts of C.U.C stocking numbers from some various sites and there numbers seem staggering. Some suggest 1 snail per gallon of water and 1 hermit per 5 gallons That seems ridiculous to me. I would like some suggestions from some of you with experience with larger reefs. Currently, I have.

Approximate numbers moved from old 125

Astrea - 20-30
Red Hermit - 8-15
Blue Hermit - 25-30
Coral Banded - 1
Brittle Star- 1 -12" Giant
Serpent Star - 1 purple
Nassarious - 10
Sea Hare - 1

What do you guys think I should add to help keep this beast clean.

Thanks in advance

The crab numbers look good to me (for what thats worth). I would definitely get some Turbos and more Nassarius. Other than that, most of the successful tanks that I see are really just balanced by individual need. If you are having a problem with a certain type of nuisance algae etc... you simply go and buy the cleaner that specializes in your problem.

I also wonder if those stocking numbers are intended to cover the inevitable deaths that occur? Maybe when you're finished you have a much smaller load of cleaners and it all balances out.... Who knows!

I had a lot of hair algae in the beginning so I got about 30 mexican turbos, did a great job but started dying after the algae was gone, had to get rid of all but a few. I have some hermits. Nassarious and 3 large serpent stars.
