clean-up crew

Liveaquaria.com has free shipping on clean-up crew orders over $60. Plus their livestock is reasonably priced!

I'll bet a LFS might speak up and sponsor one. Without the risk of holding inventory, a LFS could make a buck while passing on great prices to the group.

Any LFS wanna step up?

I'd be in for some nassarious snails, and some blue legs

The club did this last year with Mike from TheCoralShoppe.com but he has since gone to a "wholesale only" policy on his sales.

I don't think any local shop is going to be interested in the organizing, purchasing, receiving, taking any losses, (who's gonna pay for a dead snail?) separating orders and then taking the money for any less than their retail prices. Maybe, if we are lucky we could talk one of the stores into giving a certain discount for club members for a one week period or something of the sort.

There was a thread about group buys with a link to a very reasonably priced website reeftopia.com.

I would be up for a few critters for a new tank. I am looking at about $75 worth of stuff. Anyone have an idea of who would order and where we would have to drive to pick up the items? That makes a huge difference to me since gas is so high it might not be much of a discount over just paying shipping to my door.

Also, check out the LOT PRICES on some items. I'm sure we can split those up and save a bunch.

I found a place that will ship 200 astrea snails and 300 cerith or bluelegs [ in any ratio] for $200.....I believe that's .25 a piece. Hows that sound?

Okay, the diver emailed me back, saying they could give us 500 astreas, 300 bluelegs, 300 ceriths, shipped for $350. So if 10 people pitched in $36 they would get 50 astreas 30 bluelegs, and 30 ceriths witch come to about .32 a critter. hows that sound?
