Clean up crew

Does anyone have any suggestions for a clean up crew? I need something to help with Cyano and just general cleaning.

Also where do people get their clean up crews from...who is the cheapest?

I've ordered from keyscritters, etropicals and reeftopia. Reeftopia has by far been the best. Nice sizeds snails, very robust and they are doing a number on the algae in my tank.

I would suggest checking your alk and calcium levels if you are experiancing cyano. The critters will deal with the symptoms, but you need to attack the cause.

I did that and it defiantly helped. I am winning the battle, but need to get some help on the last little bit. I also am down to only a handful of snails and no crabs.

I am personally a very big fan of astrea snails for cleaning my glass, but I don't have blooms of any sort. I parted ways with my hermit crabs and will never have another as part of my clean up crew, as they were killing my snails.

i ordered from reef topia, got 100 turbos 100 blue leg hermits 15 other snails cant remember the name and 5 peppermint shrimp.

it was a good deal, 99 dollars gets free shipping, and thats overnight, so a good deal.

if you get hermits, dont forget to get empty shells for them, they will kill each other for their shells, been there done that.

if you like peppermint shrimp and buy from reeftopia, they sell them really cheap if you buy 5 or more, something like 2.75 a peice, good deal.

Nice little site. Reasonable prices and good shipping.

Any comments from previous customers here?

i have had great success in dealing with them and their cleaners/collectors catch/inverts. they typically send more than what is ordered and will promptly replace any doa without a hassle.

if you choose to go with any orange chesnut/turbo/turban snails be aware that they have a short life span. they do a great job of devouring diatoms and other algae but, don't fair so well in captivity. also note; that when they are stressed [usually in shipping and acclimation] they spew toxins that will kill anything they are bagged with so, request that they are bagged individually.
