Cleaner Shrimp Molted

I've have 2 cleaner shrimp in my DT for just two days. Woke up to find one had molted overnight. Could this have been accelerated by variances due to the new environment ? Or just coincidence ?

Could have been either one. As long as shrimp looks happy, healthy, and active, I wouldn't worry.

I've always found that usually when a shrimp (or at least in my case) gets a new home, it usually molts within the first week you get him.

My shrimps molted bi-weekly for a while buy after I stopped dosing Iodine they shed every other week. If you do regular water changes it should be fine.

Sometime the change in enviroment can trigger a molt. No one knows why nor have an explaination but it seems molting occurs fairly often for new arrivals. Or coincidental.

My week old fire shrimp molted last night. Got up around three this morning looked into the tank with the twilight light on & thought that my Coral Banded shrimp had chopped my $39.99 fire shrimp in half. LoL. What a relief it was to wake up and find the molt lying in two pieces in the tank.
