Cleaner Shrimp with eggs.

One of my cleaner shrimp has a full supply of eggs. Will they ever make it in a reef tank? Or will they be eaten by the others immediately? Any tips?

Peppermint shrimps can be raised if you collect the larvae and raise them in a seperate tank. Skunk cleaner shrimps are extremely difficult to raise, and only a few advanced aquaculturists have had any success at all.

How to Raise and Train your Peppermint Shrimp, by Jill Kirkendoll. Read it and enjoy!

FWIW, my broodstock love the nights when my Lystmata release little babies into the tanks...it's usually a FEAST (especially the cardinals, which have NO problem feeding nocturnally)

Kirkendoll's book tells you all you need to know when it comes to peppermint shrimp, and from what I've seen in mine they're probably REALLY easy to raise (I have one larvae that's grown up in my Greenbanded Goby larval tank...it was an accidental hitchhiker that survived when collecting the goby larvae).

Well it is a cleaner skunk shrimp not a peppermint.. I will most likely just let them go in tank for now... But I was curious about it..
Thanks

Everyone that has posted is right - the skunks are difficult to raise in captivity. They need special care and foods in a separate tank plus they will be eaten by not only fish but by their own parents. I've witnessed my skunk release the larvae one night and as soon as he/she was finished, turned around and started feasting along with the others. Go figure! Like Matt said, your fish will love it . . .
