My skimmer has a lot of coraline alae buildup in the main body, and there is no way to get my hand down in there to scrub it out. How much vinegar will i need per gallon to soak it and clean the coraline out?
I actually use 100% vinegar. I have had no ill-effects on any components, or in the tank. It works faster than a dilution does. Just be very sure to thoroughly rinse afterwards.
Same here
You can get a decent long handle scrubbing brush at ACE hardware to help get inside the skimmer.
Be sure to rinse well with warm water as suggested
Depending upon neck diameter a toilet brush can be used real well. Get the kind that is straight and has the bristles out in every direction kind of like ball shaped....Or a big bottle brush if you can find one.....Home-brewing store like 20 years ago is where I got mine.....
