Cleaning Calcium off Old Tank

I have a tank that I want to clean up and use for a reef. It's been sitting for a while doing nothing but still has a lot of calcium deposits in and around the top of it.

What is the best method for cleaning these deposits off. I'm reluctant to spray any chemicals in there that might be non-reef friendly and leave some sort of residue inside that might impact the reef later. Anyone have any suggestions for giving a tank a good cleaning?

Vinegar. I clean calcium off of everything with it.

I second the vinegar. Are you sure it is calcium and not lime or hard water stains?

Hmmm.. could be hard water stains.. the water in our city is quite hard and this old tank was a freshwater before I had RO/DI
